Scheduled TLC

Don´t get excited now - I´m referring to my flowers..!

I´ve finally found the thing that works for me; scheduling the watering. After all these years with killing flowers too fast, you´d think I might have come up with that idea sooner - but somehow I´ve always imagined that I´d remember this time.

And then of course this time became next time, and so on. Many flowers have passed on unnecessary, with only the strongest as survivers.

For a while I´ve been writing notes in my calender of when to water certain flowers - and it seem to work! My plants are really healthy and fresh now and I feel so pleased since I love them in my home.

Also; my orchid now has three beautiful buds so I´m crossing my fingers that I´ll see it in bloom soon!

See; it´s never too late to become a better person..!

Take care today!

Jädrans vad jag gillar bilden i förra inlägget!
Cool!

Lol, I can't keep plants alive either. A schedule does seem the best thing. Maybe I should try it.

I'm usually pretty good at watering the plants, although I have forgotten to do so once or twice. ;p The trick is to choose hardy plants --ones that could withstand a day or two of not being watered. :)

Mina orkidéer får ½ dl vatten varje torsdag, blommar som bara den!

I have an orchid, well I have two, and one of them decided to simply stop blooming. Quite frankly I've no idea whether it's actually dead or not, it looks alive ;-) Got any advice?

Bra idé. Det är kanske det som krävs för att de ska överleva. :-)

Well that plant looks very healthy! I generally look after plants well but always have problems with orchids - they always seem to die no matter what I do!!

Oh that plant looks so healthy now. You must be doing something really right for them.

I have the same problem. I kill my flowers too fast but I found a solution! Now I buy only plants that like water. That way I can over-water them without a fear of killing them.

I am bad at keeping plants alive. I have one that lives in water and that's the only way I keep it alive!

Fantastic idea! I am so pleased that it works. I need to take note of this as it is very 'hitty.missy' with my own plants.

When my kids were younger, I use to have a lot of plants hanging and on table in our home. I was especially fond of ferns...they were always so delicate and airy and I seemed to have very good luck with them. Misting them and watering them when they were almost dry but not completely. I once had an asparagus fern that hung from a 9 foot ceiling that almost touched the floor!

I'm not sure about orchids but have heard they are really hard to grow. I'd wager to say if you have buds on them you are definitely doing something right!

I have some Money plants(Pothos). It is easy to grow indoor without soil and only need to change the water once a week.

Oh, I can SO relate...I really should do the same thing. 'Course, if the drought doesn't kill 'em...the freezing temps close to the window will ;) The ones that survive at our house, are very hardy, indeed!

I usually go around poking my finger in the pots -- and if they're dry, I water them. Your method sounds more efficient. :)

Det är faktiskt ingen dum lösning!

I kill orchids so fast! I am struggling with the few plants I have right now... I think there are 5. You are so right - only the strong survive. But go you for your orchid!!
