Home is where the heart is

In the middle of all this longing for house building that I have - which includes writing long lists of all I find absolutely necessary in a house - I try to remind myself that home really is where the heart is.

I´m quite tired and done with our current home, but since we´ll have to wait so long to actually do something about it, I can´t go around and feel displeased for two years.

That would be stupid. And it doesn´t take that much to make a home feel great from the inside; with flowers, a good scent and freshly baked goods I´m pretty much all set.

Oh - and rascals. Very important to have a couple of those.

So even though I can´t wait for the day we hopefully build, I can´t complain that much.

After all - with so many hearts beating in this home (animals included), it must be a pretty awesome place.

True! Scent of vanilla, radio in the background, girls playing and laughing, candles, pancakes and tidy house. That´s a home to me. But building is an exciting idea and I am looking forward to watch the idea develop through Blogger :)

Men förstår din lägtan...

Absolut!

A good idea to focus more on the inhabitants than the house. The house would be nothing without them. :)

I totally needed to read this today! We just moved to a new town and I really don't want to be here. The new home we're renting is the best thing this town has going for itself, I was definitely done living at our last place. I needed the reminder though, that home is where the heart is. Even though I don't want to live in this town, I definitely want to be with my husband! So I need to make this my "home"!

You are so right..home is where the heart is!!! We lived in a home I did not like for years...but whoever visited love it because of all the sweet extra touches that we brought to it. oxxoxo

From what I've seen the inside of your house is darling. I agree about the baked goods and children. Very cute that you call them rascals. Great picture as always. Take care,

So true! after buying a house, I can totally agree with this post. I may not have my "dream home", but it's mine and filled with love and that's all that matters in the end :)

A very happy place indeed! Home is definitely where you hang you hat! It really doesn't matter where that is only that everyone feels the love!
