The need for baking

I´m really in the baking mode right now and it bugs me a little bit that I can´t play with my new stuff just yet.

I may go for Focaccia again tonight - because I saw something very interesting the other day while watching a food show with Italian chefs. Instead of just brushing the surface of the dough with olive oil before placed in the oven, he poured the olive oil all over.

I´m talking serious pouring - the olive oil almost drowned the dough!

It just looked too much, but he explained that it would become perfect once done - and I have to say that the finished bread looked fantastic.

The Italians should know their own bread, right?! Absolutely worth a try, so I think I´ll do that tonight.

What are your plans for today?

Älskar hembakt. Dessvärre är jag värdelös på att baka - får förlita mig på gode maken. :-)

Oj det låter väldigt mycket men som du säger de borde kunna sitt eget bröd. Ska bli intressant vad du anser om resultatet.

Wow, do let me know how that will turn out. :)

Plans? Just to get through the evening with my sanity intact. J has dictation test this Friday (every Fri actually!) where he has write 101 Chinese characters and it's been torture for him (and me!) just to get him to practice writing his characters.

My plans are to go to bed. My Wednesday is over here Down Under. My focaccia recipe also calls for lots of oil poured over it. It's yummie! Try it you'll like it! ;)
Good Night!

I wish I would be baking :)

I love the idea of baking, the smell, the touch of the dough. Our gas owen is my enemy!

I'm a firm believer that chefs can do different things to their recipes and it always turns out perfect. If I tried that, I would have dough that was literally swimming in olive oil! HA

Tina! Kan du inte dela med dig lite av din bakiver/bakglöd - måste du behålla all själv!? Du måste ha tagit min också för jag har INGEN bakönskan, utom att äta nybakt!! ;-)
